The Melbourne Sculpture Prize* 2012 is a $20,000 Non Acquisitive Award open to all Australian and New Zealand sculptors working in any medium. Selected finalists work will form the highlight exhibition of Art Melbourne (May 24th – 27th 2012), at the heritage listed Royal Exhibition Hall in Carlton Gardens, Melbourne.
Featuring art that is both collectable and affordable, Art Melbourne is one of the largest annual art fairs held in Australia, attracting over 15,000 visitors annually. Art Melbourne acts as the MSP2012 Exhibition Preview, providing selected finalists work with significant exposure to a targeted art buying audience. At close of Art Melbourne the MSP2012 Exhibition shifts to a prominent location in the Melbourne CBD for an extended free public display of a further 6 weeks, encouraging an additional estimated 100,000+ viewers.
The winner of the $20,000 Non Acquisitive Melbourne Sculpture Prize* will be announced at Art Melbourne on the VIP Opening Night Thursday May 24th 2012.
The winner of the $1000 Non Acquisitive People’s Choice Award will be announced via MSP website on Monday June 11th 2012.
